Nació en Buenos Aires, Argentina, donde reside.Se formó en diseño gráfico en la Escuela Panamericana
de Arte y en artes plásticas en los talleres de: Instituto Santa Ana, Iris Nó,
Carlos Cañás, Beatriz Varela Freire, en litografía y grabado con Natalia Giacchetta
en el Centro de Edición. Asistió a diversos seminarios, cursos y talleres:
Caligrafía japonesa (Shodo), monocopia, fotografía digital, “Las palabras en el
arte”, taller de collagraph, de litografía sobre poliéster; seminario Arte y
Naturaleza; curso “Site Specific”; “Sobre Arte Contemporáneo”… Actividades: participó en los Encuentros de
Creatividad, en el Grupo Aloha, con viajes de estudio y edición de video y de
pag. web. Formó parte de la Comisión
Directiva de Artvilo (Artistas Visuales de Vte. López). Desde
el año 1993 participa en diversas muestras individuales y colectivas nacionales
e internacionales en instituciones oficiales y privadas: En el Centro Cultural

Renate Levy was born in 1953 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she
currently lives and works.
Training in Graphic Design and Fine Arts: Escuela Panamericana de Arte,
and attended diverse studios of professors/artists (drawing and painting) also
graphic technics and lithography in the Graphic Training and Edition Center of
Buenos Aires.
She attended various seminars and
courses: japanese calligraphy, monocopy, digital photography, collagraph, lithography
on polyester,"Site Specific", "On Contemporary Art",

Since 1993 she has been doing many solo and group exhibitions in private
and national galleries and museums in
Argentina and Europe, joined diverse projects, art
competitions and fairs in Argentina and USA, as well as an Art Symposium 2014 in Voitsberg, Austria.
In March 2016 she fulfilled the project of exhibiting on her Austrian roots/ancestors in Vienna. Her last participations were in the Print Bienniale Douro- Portugal (2018), Miniprint (Bulgaria)(2017), Impact Santander (Spain) (2018), Festival Cervantino de Azul (Argentina) (2018), Pompano Beach Cultural Centre (Miami, USA)(2019)

She has her own atelier
where she currently works.
Her early works with oil on canvas are mainly colourful paintings which
include some paper collages, where the texture modifies and gives structure to
the surface.
The recurrent themes of her works are on chance, found playing cards,
symbols and phenomena, which can be seen in her colour and black and white lithographies, as
well as in her Artist’s Book.
Paper is almost always present in her works not only as a base on which
she works, but as a means of expression and experimentation.
Her last works are on the
issue time, and refer to her ancestors. With two pinhole cameras made of
objects that were from her family, she took many photographies which she then turned
into lithographies by drawing or transferring on the surface of the million
year old stones, getting the quality that describes the passing of time like
blurriness, indefinition and scars.
